Sainsbury's have opened a new foodservice offer on Fleet Street, London. The unit is located close to other foodservice offers servicing the large office market that exists in the area.

The "Fresh Kitchen" concept offers the consumer a range of sandwiches, salads, drinks, cakes and snack items as you would expect, plus an extensive range of hot food offered to the customer, on a daily changing menu.

The keen price point and extensive range is going to have an impact on the traditional competition from the Sandwich Bars and Cafes that can be found on any High Street. However the hot food offer also competes with the Burger operators, Tortilla bars and Asian outlets as well. At this price point, this is a serious alternative to eating in the staff restaurant or canteen.
