When The Oxford Science Park needed advice on how to deliver enhanced foodservice to its 60 Tenants, they naturally approached Coverpoint to deliver.
The Oxford Science Park is a unique business campus designed for science and technology business Tenants. Coverpoint provided strategic advice for a new, central amenity building, being constructed as part of the development. The stylish Saddler Building opened in December 2007 with a gourmet coffee bar, brasserie and lounge bar, as well as extensive conference and meeting rooms.
Coverpoint created and delivered a foodservice strategy, not only for the existing Magdalen Café, but also the new central Amenity, the Saddler Building.
Coverpoint effectively infused commercial business principles with workplace dining to develop a business model for both facilities capable of delivering a return to the Client, by introducing new markets and business opportunities to the Park.
Coverpoint were also appointed to project manage the selection process for a foodservice partner to operate all facilities. The cultural fit of the successful operator was key to the Client team and our selection approach was carefully tailored as a result.
In addition to the submission of budgets, each short listed operator was required to organise hosted site visits and ‘cook-off’s’ designed to enable the Client to see each operator in a variety of environments and to meet real employees, not just sales teams.
The Saddler Brasserie was launched in December 2007 and represents a new approach to Business Park foodservice, fully meeting the Client needs along the way.
